Conversations in the chat room must only be related to earthquakes or to other scientific topics. Off-topic (unless of interest to all users of the chat), non-relevant and silly conversations will be stopped by the chat moderators, eventually by blocking the users who are engaged in the conversation.
Chat rooms are forbidden to users under 18 years. Moreover, in each chat room it is forbidden to:
- Share personal information (telephone numbers, addresses, credit card information, etc.)
- Advertise commercial products or web sites not related to the earthquake topic
- Publish earthquake forecasts not supported by scientific data
- Spread panic among users with untrue information or without scientific basis
- Create multiple user accounts
- Engage in aggressive, defamatory or discriminatory behavior towards other users
- Publish texts with sexual content or vulgarity
- Cursing and swearing
- Write in a language different from the language of the chat room
During earthquake events it is advisable not to send unnecessary messages or questions which can be answered by referring to the earthquake list and to the maps.
Chat moderators are active 24/7 and they are responsible for verifying that the above rules are observed. Users who do not obey the rules will be blocked. The user who believes to have been unfairly blocked may send a complaint at futurainnovationsrl@gmail.com
Private messages between any two users are enabled after a friendship request has been sent and accepted. When using private messages, the misconduct by a user can be reported to chat moderators. The friendship between two users can be cancelled at any time by any of the two users.
Futura Innovation SRL reserves the right to suspend the chat service at any time if not properly used by the app users.
Chat moderation
Moderators are users of the app who help enforcing the chatroom rules. Moderators provide their service voluntarily for free. The conditions for becoming a moderator are as follows:
- The chat profile of the app user must be at least 60 days old.
- The user is sponsored by at least two existing moderators.
- The user is evaluated and approved by Futura Innovation SRL.
Moderators are subject to these guidelines:
- Moderators must follow the same chatroom rules that apply to standard users.
- Moderators should avoid to interact with the chat users in private and outside the app.
- Moderators cannot favor friends over other users.
- Moderators must avoid discussions related to a user they just banned.
- Moderators cannot insult or denigrate other users (especially recently banned users).
- Moderators cannot impose new chatroom rules.
- Moderators must read and write the English language.
A moderator can withdraw from moderation at any time by sending an email to futurainnovationsrl@gmail.com. Additionally, Futura Innovation SRL reserves the right to remove a moderator from moderation at any time.
